To ensure the fairness of the election process.
In order to ensure the fairness of candidate nodes, we will have an upgrade at 16:00, 2nd April 2022 (UTC+8) for the new election mechanism of Ultron nodes. The original pre-candidate node mechanism remains the same. The house of the candidate node will become 2 instead of the original 4. The number of Ultron nodes remains at 21. 10 blocks are needed to be p in each block rotation by an Ultron node.
Definition of nodes:
Types of Nodes | Explanation |
Pre-Candidate Nodes (PCN) | Every node that has pledged 20 UTGs by default as PCN. |
Candidate Nodes (CN) | The House of candidate node 1 allows Genesis Nodes to enter. The House of candidate node 2 allows qualified PCN to enter. (Penalty points must be less than 30) |
Ultron Nodes (UN) | Each UN is needed to produce 10 blocks in one block rotation. |
PoS House of Candidate Node Division:
House of Candidate Node 1 | House of Candidate Node 2 | |
Seats | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Node quota | 9 | 12 |
Limitation | Block produce right will be canceled if the calculated value of the Node is below the standard. | Block produce right will be canceled if the calculated value of the Node is below the standard. |
Explanation | Genesis nodes will always occupy 9 node quotas | All CN with a pledge of 20UTG and penalty points of less than 30. |
Conclusion:
Under the new rules of PoS consensus:
l The more UTG assets held by a node, the higher the probability of being elected as an Ultron Node to produce more blocks and get more PoS rewards.
l If the UTG assets held by a node are below the minimum calculated value on the chain, then there is no chance of being elected as Ultron Node.
l The requirement for entering the house of the candidate node is to ensure the stable operation of the block-producing node and remain a penalty point below 30.
